Step-by-step process for international patients
- Send the patient’s reports by WhatsApp or email for a first review: blood group, complete blood count, liver and kidney function tests, PT/INR, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), abdominal ultrasound, CT scan or liver angiogram, and upper GI endoscopy.
- Receive a treatment plan. If a transplant is needed, arrange a willing donor with a compatible blood group and send the donor’s reports: height and weight, lipid profile, HIV I and II, thyroid tests (T3, T4, TSH), hepatitis B (HBsAg) and C (anti-HCV), and an abdominal ultrasound to rule out fatty liver.
- Apply for medical visas. Send scanned passports of the patient, donor and attendants; we issue a visa invitation letter for the embassy. See visa and documents.
- Travel. Share your tickets and arrival date and we arrange airport pickup, police registration (FRRO) and accommodation near the hospital.
- Evaluation and approval. Patient and donor have tests and fitness checks over a few days. With the embassy’s no-objection certificate and the authorisation committee’s approval, the surgery date is set.
- Surgery and recovery. Patient and donor are admitted 1–2 days before the operation, then cared for in the transplant ICU and a private room, with weekly tests after discharge.
- Fit to fly. When the team is satisfied, you receive a fitness-to-travel certificate and continue follow-up by video.
